7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to movie night with the family (It's Annie tonight) tomorrow my plans include seeing Chinese acrobats and Sunday, I want to have some quite time to read.

I loved Annie when I was little. And I loved The Poisonwood Bible. Its definitely one that I could re-read one day!
The Poisonwood Bible is a great book. It wasn't my #1, but very, very close.
Trish - My daughter picked Annie. I was surprised that it was so suggestive sexually. The Carol Burnett character was quite a tramp. I didn't remember that at all and it totally went over my daughter's head.

Mine was The Book Thief. I think a big reason was because I wasn't blown away for the first 75 pages, but then it blew me away. Sweetness in the Belly and Poisonwood Bible were close seconds. I wasn't blown away by The Poisonwood Bible on the first attempt either. Go figure.
Kristy - I've read so many raves about The Book Thief that I just bought a copy. I didn't realize it was so long but I just have to see what everyone's raving about.
If you look at the number of words on many of the pages of The Book Thief along with the drawings it's not as long as it looks. It's a quick read too, but that could be because I loved it so much. It seems shorter than The Poisonwood Bible. You may not be aware, but it is Young Adult Literature. That still surprise me.
